The 18th Anniversary of Ehimemaru  Memorial Ceremony in front of the monument at the Kakaako Waterfront Park

今年は宇和島水産高校、ハワイセントルイス高校生達も沢山知事や市長の代理献花をされました。

  御遺族の方はじめ年に一度ここでだけ再会できる方々がいます。

  私は2009年から毎年カカアコの慰霊祭に参加するようになり10年経ちました。記憶を絶やさないため微力ながら今年から個人よりもNPO法人アイムまつやまとして献花をさせていただきます。現地段取り等をしてくださったえひめ丸慰霊協会のケンさん、ハワイ日米協会理事長さん、会長、元会長、昨秋今治のしまなみサイクリング大会でお会いしたホノルル市長さんらと一堂に会することもできました。

     This year, a lot of high school students both from Uwajima and Hawai’i presented wreaths on behalf of Governor and Mayor.

     There are people I can see only once a year here such as some bereaved family members.

     It’s been 10years since I began to attend the Memorial in Kakaako. In order to help keep the memory, I decided to present wreath not as individual but as NPO I’M MATSUYAMA from this year. Happy friends are organizers for the Memorial Ken-san of EMMA, JASH Chair Steve, President Kaneko-san, former President Ed and Honolulu Mayor, three of whom I met at Shimanami Int’l Cycling Event in Imabari just last autumn.
